about

Leaving the family under a cloud, to chase ghosts into a world that seemed to be the ultimate dream. In 'You Said It Best', the male protagonist realises it is time to return home from a selfish isolated life, and that it is time to be with his family after his ex-partner has split up with her live-in. Although he is back and ready to stay, this song also acknowledges his fear that things may not work out as so much time has passed. Despite that, he knows he must go home and he is pleased that she is welcoming him back.

lyrics

Left my keys on the desk
Are they still there?
Do you still leave the windows open to the evening air
If I come home
Will you care?
Will you open the door and smile again?

You said it best
This world is testing
But we must have a go
There’s others need us to be here and now
You said it best
No there’s no resting
And we must have a go
So our world won’t be a lesser place

Shall I pick up some food
Do you still like Asian?
Did he bring you round to his ways
Maybe its just too strange.
I miss your gentle hands
The hubbub of the morning
Think I’m ready for a change
But will you be there?
